My Birthday Eve Celebration

Yep, I just celebrated my 28th birthday a few days ago :D A year older by date, yet I felt I'm still the same old me haha.

So my sweetheart and I decided to celebrate it as usual, but at a different place. Last year we celebrated at a Korean restaurant called The Street Cafe at Petaling Jaya. This time my birthday fell on weekdays, so I have decided that we will celebrate somewhere near her workplace. So the destination was... Penang (ok, not really thaaat near) haha.

Penang is famous for one thing, it is a food heaven. Thus this trip is obviously about food, mind you.

The journey started with me hopping in the KTM ETS from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh. This has become my favorite method of transportation to Ipoh due to its close accessibility to her workplace. It is also quite fast compared to the bus, although the bus is half cheaper.

We stopped by at MCD for the prize opening ceremony haha:

A Decade with the KTM Express Train

It should’ve been more than a decade that I last rode on an express train to my mum’s hometown in Perak. Due to my grandfather is getting re-married again, I’ve decided to come during the oath/swearing (or in my language, akad nikah) ceremony despite most of my families will come back on the next weekend where the wedding ceremony will be held (of course I’ll come along too).

Being a bit scared by how lighting fast our local express busses can go on the highway, I’ve decided to take the train. It is safer, relax, but took quite some time compared to express bus. The last time I took the express train was around the early of 1990s’ where there is no air conditioner for third class seats. I remembered that I enjoyed the most when opening the windows and enjoy the wind gushing in while looking at the outside panorama.

Nowadays, even the third class seats have been equipped with air conditioner, so you can’t enjoy the way I did during the last time. Nevertheless, it was quite a nostalgic feeling when being inside the train as it reminded me what I did when I was still small. Anyway, I’ll save the post about my grandpa’s ceremony later, but for now, here are some of the pictures I took during the adventure:

Trains and locomotives, part of my romance ;)

RapidKL Bus is going to change their ticketing system this July..?

Yeah, I don’t know whether this is true or not, but I’ve been asking several RapidKL bus drivers since this morning when I’m on the way to my class. They said most probably RapidKL bus going to change their ticketing system where the ticket from July onwards, you can't re-use the ticket anymore.

Yes, so that mean for those people (me >_>) that somehow managed to save expenses by hopping several buses that using same ticket, by July, you can't enjoy that privilege anymore =( Yeah, from that onwards, it will revert back to the old system, where you buy ticket everytime you hop in a bus =( The bus driver said this system was actually planned to be implemented this month (June), but somehow they decided to wait a little longer.

The main question is, will the price remain the same? But then you will have to buy each ticket whenever you hop a bus. One hint for sure, the driver said, they might slightly, yea slightly decrease the fare (maybe 10 or 20 cent <_<) for each ticket. But anyhow, you will have to wait. The most important, you are going to spent more >_>

I'm going to die paying these tickets everytime i go to classes x_x

I also asked the KTM worker about a possible raise in fare. But they immediately said No as KTM is part of the government, so they are somehow, subsidized (maybe <_<) and they won't increase price (i hope >_>). As for the LRT, the answer was "Don't know". Since buses under RapidKL is doing some changes, the LRT which will be affected with the increasing cost of electricity this July, i bet they also will increase their price >_<

My 'Bling-Bling' >_>

So in the end, if you happen to see a person holding so much coins during at the ticket counter, that is definitely going to be me xD Yeah, scratching every coins until the last drop of my blood in this new dawn of Malaysia >_>

The cursed KTM Komuter and Tasik Selatan LRT station >_>

Aaah, it has been a long time since i blog bout me xD

Anyways, it has been a frustrated week for me. The main source, KTM Komuter train :-@ Seriously, it almost never on time, meaning always late. To make it worst, due to lack of maintenance, the trains often suffer from breakdown. But the most importantly, we as the user whom uses the trains everyday had to suffer because of the management old fools =x For 1 month, i had to endure 3 train breakdowns, first two which delayed my journey for 30 minutes, and the latest for 60 minutes which seeing during the peak hour of people getting back home o_o Seriously, those old fools that handling the KTM management need to be fired on the spot >_<

My irritation doesn't end there. The LRT Bandar Tasik Selatan really pissed me off too :-@ Why? For 2 days in a row i went there in the morning as i need to go to my classes, they just opened only 1 freaking ticket barrier lane?? There are a lot of users using it on the rush hour but they just let only 1?? Goddamn freaking hell to them. Seriously i wanted to shout at them, asking all the staff to queue after the ticket lane apologizing to each customer >_< Arrgghhh... so annoying >_<

Anyway, although it is late, but Gong Xi Fa Chai to visitors out there and Happy Valentine =) Hope u enjoyed your valentine with your loved ones. As for me, since my lazy piggy is extremely busy with her final year project, we just celebrated it in a small way by exchanging card and gift, later lunch at APIIT cafeteria <_< Oh well, as long as there is love, anywhere doesn't matter right? x)

Ciao~
